February 25, 2013 was Ontario Canada's very first National Cupcake Day to raise money for all the homeless and shelter housed animals. The idea is to hold cupcake parties or gift people with cupcakes to encourage donations in support of the SPCA and humane societies. This type of day has had a great deal of success in Australia and New Zealand.
So here's to hoping you showed your support on Monday and cute puppy cupcakes with drawn on whiskers and floppy fondant ears were enjoyed by all!
