Some of us are very low maintenance with minimal fuss and muss in our homes and during holidays. I am a not sparkly, ponytail, minimal make up sweat pants kind of woman who likes the simple things. Especially for holidays. I like white lights only on Christmas trees, strings of popcorn between old fashioned vintage glass balls and homemade crooked ornaments. I don't do ostentatious or anything with sequins. Despite being glitter challenged I love shimmery cake decorations that pick up the light and catch the eye.
I love making silvery retro tree cake toppers, pretty colorful holly with shiny red berries and romantic ruffles and bows made from fondant. They all appeal to my Christmas spirit and against all my usual non sparkly instincts I get a warm feeling making them. So even if these types of cake decorations are not your style try stepping outside your comfort one and bedazzle your cake.
